The trial version has the numbers 1 up to 65,536 for your guessing fun. This is just a sample of the fun that awaits you. In the full game, the number 0 will be included and the numbers from 65,537 all the way up to infinity. Yes, that's right, you can choose numbers between 0 and infinity! And that's not all, completely free of charge, you will receive Expansions Packs 1 & 2, detailed below:

Expansion pack 1: Negativity

Add even more excitement and variety to your game with the negative numbers expansion pack! Now you can guess negative numbers such as -1, -76, -7 or even -786352672875639. In fact you get all the numbers down to negative infinity - effectively doubling the fun of each game! And if that wasn't enough then several special irrational numbers are included completely free of charge! These include the mysterious pi (3.141592...), the hard working square-roots √2, √3, √5, √7, and √11 and the just plain crazy e (2.7183...).

Expansion pack 2: Complexities - Advanced Level

The second expansion pack is entirely imaginary! But don't worry, you're not going mad - the pack expands upon the set of real numbers with the imaginary set of numbers. The pack has been a hit with the fans as it takes the game to a higher level of thinking - and increases the level of fun by 2 to the power of 7 precisely. Imaginary numbers (also called complex number) are in the form a + bi, where a and b are real numbers. Together they form complex numbers such as 4i, 2 - 25i or even -253648 - 387563i! As you can see, a serious amount of funnage ensues for both the players and the spectators.

Expansion Pack 4: Fractions

This expansion pack expresses all numbers in fractional form. This of course excludes irrational numbers but the fractional representation of the rational numbers more than makes up for it. Popular with professional Number Guessers. Requires original game to play.

Expansion Pack 5: Roman Numerals

Have you ever wanted to go back in time to the age of the Romans and immerse yourself into their culture and lifestyle? You can either invent a time machine and transport yourself back in time to the age of the Romans or - and much simpler - play this exciting and revolutionary expansion pack! The same guessing fun as the original game but with Roman Numerals in place of regular numbers - this creates not just a new game but a whole new experience. Your way of thinking will be changed forever!

Background information

Guess the Number - you can see where the name came from. You may think it to be an obvious choice, but months of discussions were embarked upon before settling on this fine, descriptive name. Rejected names include:

• The Number Guesser - this is not clear as to the purpose of the game, nor does it make it clear that it is a game as the phrase 'Number Guesser' clearly refers to a person; i.e. you are a 'number guesser', and as most people do not define themselves as number guessers then the person would assume that it does not refer to them and therefore walk away confused never again to consider buying the game, decreasing sales and overall profits of NumbersRUs.
• Guess the Letter - A slightly misleading title. The boffins at NumbersRUs made the most of this discarded name by created a whole new game based on guessing letters instead of numbers. This is a big seller in the younger market due to the simplicity of the game and the limited possibilities. It does make a fine gift for any small child. Or medium-sized child. Or even a very over-sized child. Buy it now!
• Pick the Number - Reminded the players too much of pickpockets, pickaxes and pick 'n' mix; all of which decreased the enjoyment of the game and increased tendencies to steal a random selection of sweets and then smash them to bits.
• Catch the Elephant - NumbersRUs has since dismissed the employee who pushed for this rather misleading name. Our contacts inform us that he has since created a brand new game involving injecting rats with tarmac whilst excavating various unstable structures. He called this game, which incidentally did not sell very well, Catch the Elephant. He is now seeking medical attention.
